Artist's Description

The High Renaissance Italian sculptor, painter, architect, and poet Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni inspires the artistic passions of Angela Rene’ Roberts above all others. Angela was only 5 years old when a library book of Michelangelo’s work lit the fire within. Since one tribute cannot convey his influence on her life, this is the second of more to come; inspired by the "Drunkenness Of Noah" in the first bay of the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo was often challenged by the contours of architecture and gravity. A body painter is challenged by time and the dynamic contours of a living canvas. On the breathing lovely form of Jillian Rita Brennan, Angela achieves a likeness of the master’s work in transpositions and complex composites.
